K is for Komodo Dragon

As you can tell from the pictures, komodo dragons are very large lizards. They can weigh up to 300 pounds and grow to be 10 feet long. Their lifespan is about 30 years.

Their great sense of smell helps them find decaying animals on which to feed. They've also been known to eat other lizards and some large mammals including water buffalo! They live in Indonesia's Lesser Sundra Islands.
